Illusion or Reality

Life as a matter of fact is nothing more but a choice between reality and illusion. Reality is harsh, bitter, brutal, grinding , coarse and scraggly whereas illusion is comforting , soothing, satiny, velvety, sonorous ,agreeable and pleasing. This definition of reality and illusion might be refuted by a person who has been unusually blessed and for whom life has been like an extravagant cruise.

In this world of choices a single choice has the capability of making or breaking one’s life. We can, if favoured by luck live in this world on our own terms but if this does not happen we can always guide our mind and consequently the course of our life in the realm of illusion.
For me living in illusion for a short span of time, just in order to give life some time to somewhat smoothen the path of reality, is not taboo. I ask, why not? What’s the harm? A moment of comfort and solace imparted to human consciousness by illusion can have a healing effect on our personality which is so often marred and crippled by reality.
In illusion we have the freedom to break the shackles of reality. We can let our mind wander in a territory where thoughts are not incarcerated by customs and conservations. We can float in a limitless sky and let our imagination paint our dreams with colours so brilliant and lustrous. Illusion has the power to melt inhibitions and evanesce all our fears. It is illusion which gives us the strength , even if, for a split second, to live our unfulfilled desires and experience that happiness for which we crave in reality.
If we choose, we can live in a world of comforting illusion, but to maintain the perfect balance it is important that we do not stretch this period of illusion to an extent that it becomes impossible to alienate it from reality because how much ever glorious illusion may be we cannot overlook the truth that after all an ‘illusion’ is an illusion and a ‘reality’ is a reality.
